Poker
Poker is a family of card games involving betting and individual play, whereby the winner is determined by the ranks and combinations of their cards, some of which remain hidden until the end of the game. Poker games vary in the number of cards dealt, the number of shared or "community" cards and the number of cards that remain hidden. The betting procedures vary among different poker games in such ways as betting limits and splitting the pot between a high hand and a low hand.

Texas hold 'em (also known as Texas holdem, hold 'em, or holdem) is a variation of the standard card game of poker. Texas hold 'em consists of two cards (hole cards) being dealt face down to each player and then five community cards being placed face-up by the dealer—a series of three ("the flop") then an additional single card ("the turn" or "fourth") and another additional card ("the river" or "fifth street")—with players having the option to check, bet, raise or fold after each deal; i.e., betting may occur prior to the flop, "on the flop", "on the turn", and "on the river".

Poker is unique amongst the games we offer because it features player versus player gaming instead of player versus house. We offer poker as a part of standard packages or as a dedicated tournament style party.

When considering poker for your event there are a few factors to consider. First, once playing, poker players are used to sticking with the game for a few hours and may miss out on other entertainment at your party. Second, while our dealers are able to help train inexperienced players they will not be able to do so during game play as it would give an advantage against other players. (This is not a concern in player vs house games where training players helps them beat the house and does not affect the other players.) Tables accommodate eight to ten players, and during tournament style events when the remaining players are moved to the final table we can continue play with knocked out players in a mini-tournament of their own or bring blackjack equipment and convert tables to single deck blackjack games.
